RAY HOSNER
Panther Varsity Head Coach

Coach Hosner took over as varsity head football coach at Pine View in 2001. During his tenure he has won 83 games with only 24 losses making him one of the winningest active coaches in the state of Utah. He led the Panthers to consecutive appearances in the 3A state Finals in 2004 and 2005, and to the 4A state Finals in 2007 and the 4A semi-finals in 2008. He has won the Region Nine title five times and has led his team to the playoffs eight times in the last nine years with a 14-8 playoff record.

Coach Hosner played high school football in New York and was awarded All State recognition. He then accepted a scholarship to Southern Utah University where he was an outstanding linebacker.

Prior to coaching at Pine View, Hosner coached high school football in New York and then at Hurricane High under head coach Wes Christiansen. Later he accepted a position as an assistant at Pine View under the legendary Sark Arslanian. Coach Hosner is married and has three children: Kaden, Bladen, and Brooklyn. His wife, Cary, is a teacher at Snow Canyon High school.

TODD SHAW
Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Running Backs Coach

Coach Shaw has served as an assistant coach at Pine View since 2001. Throughout his tenure at Pine View Coach Shaw has coached the running backs and has helped develop several outstanding backs, who not only received All State honors, but went on to receive college football scholarships. These players include: Jake Foote, who led the state in rushing in 2001 and accepted a scholarship to the University of Nevada; Tom Lawson, who is currently a running back at Nebraska; Jesse Ence, who started at running back for Dixie State as a true freshman; and Travis Tait. From 2007 through the present Coach Shaw has served as offensive coordinator.  During that time Pine View's offense has been among the state leaders in passing (2007), rushing (2008) and total offense (2007, 2008).

Coach Shaw played high school football at Cottonwood where he was a standout fullback. His play earned him a scholarship to Dixie College where he played for Coach Greg Croshaw for two years. After completing his eligibility at Dixie, Coach Shaw played for two years at Southern Utah University where he received his bachelors degree. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Taylorsville where he helped lead his team to the state finals.

Coach Shaw is married and has three boys. In addition to his family and coaching duties he teaches history at Pine View High School.

DALE STOTT, M.D.
Offensive Line Coach, Run Game Coordinator, Strength and Conditioning Coach

Coach Stott, now in his eighth year as an assistant coach at Pine View, is originally from Tucson, Arizona where he played on a state championship football team and received All State recognition as an offensive tackle. After high school he attended the University of Arizona on an academic scholarship, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Science in 1983, and his Medical Doctorate in 1987.

Coach Stott began his football coaching career in 1983 at Santa Rita High School, while attending medical school. After one year as an assistant, he was promoted to head coach of the junior varsity team and led them to two region championships and an undefeated season. He also served as the varsity offensive line coach and offensive run coordinator. During his tenure at Santa Rita, five of his offensive linemen were awarded football scholarships to Division 1 Universities.

Dr. Stott, a board certified anesthesiologist and pain specialist, took a temporary hiatus from coaching to pursue his medical career. He returned to coaching in 2003 at the invitation of Coach Ray Hosner. After serving one year as the Pine View varsity defensive line coach, he was named the offensive line coach, strength coach, and run game coordinator in 2004. Since assuming those roles, Coach Stott has helped the Panthers become a consistent leader in total offense. In 2008 the Panthers had the number one rushing offense in the state of Utah. Coach Stott is an avid power lifter and has been certified as a strength and conditioning coach by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

GREG CROSHAW
Defensive Coordinator

Coach Croshaw, the former head coach of Dixie State College and one of the winningest coaches in junior college football history with a record of 214-56-1 over 24 seasons, joined the Pine View staff as defensive coordinator in 2007. He brings a wealth of experience and football knowledge with him as well as a tradition of success. His teams finished #2 or #3 in the nation 13 times and won 17 conference championships. In addition to his tenure at Dixie State he also coached at Northern Arizona University, Weber State, BYU and Snow College.

In his first year as defensive coordinator at Pine View, Coach Crowshaw's defense was among the leaders in the state in fewest points allowed and among the top in the nation in interceptions. His defense was also first in the region in rushing yards allowed, turnovers created, points allowed, and total defense.

 


CHRIS BRINAGH 

Coach Brinagh came to Pine View in 2008. He serves as the varsity wide receivers coach and also works with the defensive backs. Coach Brinagh is originally from Southern California. He first came to St. George to play for Coach Crowshaw at Dixie College where he had an outstanding career as a wide receiver, including being named the MVP of the Rotary Bowl. He finished his final two years of college football at Idaho State University. Prior to coaching at Pine View, Coach Brinagh served as a graduate assistant coach at Dixie State College and SUU. He was also an assistant coach at Dixie High School for several years.

BRETT GIFFORD
Head Coach, Junior Varsity

Coach Gifford is in his fifth year as the head coach of the Pine View Junior Varsity Football team. He also works as an assistant coach on the Varsity, working primarily with the inside linebackers. Coach Gifford played his high school football at Pine View where he starred at linebacker for the Panthers. He currently teaches at Pine View in the special education department and is married with three children.

TELLEY ESPLIN
Assistant Coach, Junior Varsity

Coach Esplin serves as the Junior Varsity offensive coordinator and running backs coach. He is a math teacher at Pine View.

SEAN ALLEN
Junior Varsity Receivers

Coach Allen is an assistant coach on the Pine View Junior Varsity team. He works primarily with receivers and defensive backs.

 

BRANDON DRAPER

Varsity Linebackers

Coach Draper is the varsity linebackers coach and assistant defensive coordinator. He is now in his fourth year with Pine View. Prior to coming to Pine View he served as head football coach at Beaver High where his teams enjoyed excellent success. He left Beaver to serve in the Army in Iraq for 18 months. Since his tour in Iraq he has been on active duty in St. George. He played his high school football at Beaver High where he was an all state quarterback. He played collegiate football at Southern Utah University, where he made the transition from quarterback to inside linebacker.

VINCE FEULA

Varsity Defensive Line

This is Coach Feula's third year coaching with Pine View. He played his high school football at La Mirada High School, where he was a high school all-american. He then played at the University of Arizona for two years, before transferring to Cerritos JC, where he was named a JC all-american. He finished his final two years at Brigham Young University where he was a starting defensive tackle. Coach Feula coaches the defensive line.

 

TOM SEMMENS
Freshman Head Coach
Coach Semmens is now in his third season as an assistant coach at Pine View. In 2010 he will take over as the head freshman coach. He also played at Pine View for Coach Hosner and was an outstanding offensive center and team captain.
